New industrial and logistics developments: Tesco's head office is operating at full capacity, a production hall has been inaugurated in Debrecen

Tesco's new logistics centre in Szigetszentmiklós was inaugurated in November 2024 and has been operating at full capacity since March this year. The 100,000 square metre facility will replace the former warehouses in Herceghalmi and Gyáli and will play a central role in the chain's national supply chain. The centre will serve Tesco's 198 stores and online shoppers within 24 hours.
The logistics centre employs around 900 people, and the warehouse management system allows goods to be tracked from receipt to dispatch. Workers also have access to modern changing rooms, toilets, a relaxation room, recreation facilities and a kitchen with cooked food - all of which support the comfort and efficiency of those working continuous shifts.
Meanwhile, an important development in Debrecen has also been completed: the 15,300 square metre production hall for ZF Chassis Modules, a joint project of Panattoni Hungary and OTP Real Estate Investment Fund, has been handed over. The HUF 7.5 billion investment will supply BMW's Debrecen plant with chassis modules and will be a key element in the supply chain for series production, which will start in August 2025.
The build-to-suit development was financed by the OTP Real Estate Investment Fund, and this is not the first time the parties have worked together - they have also worked together on the Rossmann logistics base.
Developments of this scale not only increase the efficiency of supply chains, but also contribute to job creation and the long-term development of industrial infrastructure in Hungary.
